Also known as "peapods", the original "double enders" dating from the 1860s, were used for open water lobstering. They were also a popular design for Salmon trolling in Alaska. Accommodations: Overnight accommodations are provided for two passengers in two berths. The layout includes two cabin areas consisting of the forward cuddy cabin and a semi-enclosed pilothouse. The forward cuddy cabin layout includes two side-by-side bunks with custom made mattresses, and indoor/outdoor carpet. A port convenience galley, starboard fold-down table, and space for port head (not installed) make for a great layout with plenty of room. Other cuddy cabin features include 12-volt light fixtures, teak six-rod overhead fishing pole rack, access to chain locker, two portholes, two windows, and lockable companionway door. The pilothouse is equipped with seven windows, full instrumentation helm, lounge/seating on canvas-covered cushions over the engine compartment, and 12-volt light fixtures.

Galley Equipment: The galley has a cabinet/counter top station which houses a stainless steel sink (needs plumbing), two drawers, three under-sink cabinets, and two storage cubbies. There is also a overhead light and window over the sink area.

Electronic and Navigational Gear: The helm is equipped with a Morse sport steering wheel, forward/reverse throttle set, and dash mounted electronics. The helm gauges consist of a temp, psi, voltmeter, amp meter, RPM, and hour gauge. Electronic and navigational gear includes Garmin 176C GPS, Si-Tex CVS-106 Mark ll fish finder, brand new Uniden ES VHF marine radio with external speaker, Ritchie compass, USCG running lights, and two brand new antennas, one for the AM/FM radio, and one for the VHF system.

Electrical/Gas/Plumbing: Two brand new batteries power the 12-volt electrical system. Other electrical features include alternator charging system, 12-volt DC accessory panel at helm, battery boxes, and battery isolator switch.

Bilge system has two bulge pumps which are both manual and automatic.

Hull and Deck Gear: The hull is built of fiberglass, and the decks are fiberglass with non-skid surfacing. Deck layout includes deck at bow, foredeck, narrow walk around side decks, and large protected working cockpit/aft deck. Hull and deck features include raised gunwales, stainless steel bow rail, four deck cleats, T-bar tie down at bow, T-bar tie down at stern, two stainless steel grab rails over cabin top, and two deck lights. Anchor gear includes a new 5 Kg Claw anchor, chain, rode, new stainless steel bow roller, chain locker, and anchor box. Safety gear includes seven PFD's, two fire extinguishers, flare kit, first aid kit, docking line, fenders, sea anchor, miscellaneous tools, and handheld spotlight. Canvas inventory includes new cockpit enclosure (never been used). Fishing and sports gear includes 23-gallon bait tank, brand new bait tank pump (not installed), two stainless steel rail mounted rod holders, and four stainless steel flush mount rod holders. The boat completed last haulout and bottom paint as of June 2005. Bottom is cleaned and inspected monthly by dive service (Anacapa Boat Service).

Equipment/Engine Details:

Engine Details: Power package includes 1984 Volvo TMA240 turbo 160 HP (3,600 RPM) diesel inboard engine. The boat cruises at 10 knots and reaches maximum speed of 14 knots. Range is 600 miles. This boat is extremely fuel efficient! She burns only 2 GPH at 8-10 knots cruising speed. The engine has 395 original hours. Other engine features include two steel fuel tanks with total 120-gallon capacity, stainless steel trim tabs, 1½" stainless steel shaft, new bronze 18 x 18 RH 3-blade prop, 1.93:1 reduction gear ratio, freshwater cooling, $1,000 worth of new manifolds (work done by C&R Marine), $1,000 worth of engine alignment, and new couplers (work done by Ventura Harbor Boatyard).

Remarks: The vessel is currently being run as a sport fishing vessel in and around Channel Islands.
