Description
Built on an 80? steel barge hull with 13 water tight compartments and 20? of paddles behind, this is a magnificent boat. Previously USCG certified for 160 dinner guests, RIVER QUEEN, was driven to Detroit from Florida, used as land based restaurant addition, and has been restored to an operating river boat by the very knowledgeable current owner. The hull and machinery are sound and cosmetic upgrades have been underway for a year, including new tile on both galley floors and totally refinished exterior. RIVER QUEEN has three 4-71 Detroit Diesels, one driving the 100 Kw generator and the other 2 running the split paddle wheels through hydraulic motors. With pneumatic controls for both throttle and shift, the vessel is fully controllable from the raised pilot house; a bit of a challenge, but a absolute thrill to run.
