Description
Laurentide was built as a ?Classic Motoryacht? version of the Hatteras 53 hull, which was also available in the ?Extended Deck? and ?Yachtfish? versions. The Classic Motoryacht version provides a significant advantage in a wide covered walk around deck that allows easy and secure access to docklines and cleats when docking. In addition, Laurentide has a rare factory ?hard enclosure? on the large aft deck, which allows this spacious area to be used in much the same way as a four seasons room, extending the boating season with a comfortable environment in cold, wet, or other inhospitable conditions. As a 1983 model, the vessel incorporates nearly all of the refinements that Hatteras developed for the venerable 53 throughout her long production span. These include the sought after walk around queen berth in the master stateroom, stall showers in each head, larger fuel tank capacities, a redesigned more modern flybridge, and the larger more powerful turbocharged and inter-cooled engines to produce a better cruising speed. Laurentide was well maintained by her previous owner, and wa continuously upgraded. Maintenance records for all work performed since the vessel was acquired by her previous owner are available for inspection. Her records include the original owner?s manual from Hatteras, as well as her original factory wiring diagrams. In addition, she has aboard nearly all of the original manufacturer?s manuals for installed equipment, which is invaluable in understanding system operation, ordering spare parts, or obtaining service. Please see appendix one for a detailed list of major items repaired or replaced by the previous owner.
1983 model delivered to original owner as ?Enterprise? on the east coast. Second buyer purchased her and brought her to the great lakes (Chicago) in 1990. Third owner named boat ?Nadia? and berthed her in St. Joe, Michigan. Previous owner purchased her in 2002, and renamed her ?Laurentide?, (the name of the glacier system which carved out the great lakes). The boat has been kept in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Lake Michigan and has been in fresh water since 1990.
