Hey there and welcome to this article on choosing the right Koi pond filter. This article should tell you why you need a good Koi pond filter and how to choose the correct one for your pond.

It may interest you to know that the main reason that Koi need a good pond filter is because they thrash about in the pond which makes all the dirt and sediments rise from the pond floor.

If the Koi have lots of space and they are in a big pond like in the wild then they can simply swim away if the water gets too dirty but in smaller ponds that we keep in our garden there is less room so we need a good Koi pond filter to filter out all of the waste.

When you go about buying your filter you need to think about the size of your Koi pond.

If your pond is quite small then you will need a smaller filter, if it is large then you will need a large filter but if your pond is very large and there is lots of space for your Koi to roam about then you probably dont need one at all.

There are a couple of different Koi pond filters you can think about buying. In my Koi pond I use the machine filters that are like vacuum cleaners, these do a great job and work very well.

Machine filters have worked very well for me.

Now you may be wondering how much a Koi pond filter is going to cost you. I would say for a good one you will pay around two to three hundred dollars.

If you buy them online you can often get good deals but if you find a local store that sells them then when you go into buy remember to take your pond measurements with you to show to the store clerk and they should be able to point out the right sized one.

Hopefully this article has given you a better knowledge of your Koi pond filter.
